Middle Java Engineer (EU location)

  • We are seeking a Java Developer to join a company that builds enterprise-level, cloud-based software used by thousands of public-sector organizations. The team is developing a modern Human Capital Management (HCM) platform relied upon by state, public and social-sector institutions across Germany.

    You will work on a scalable Software-as-a-Service platform that supports a wide range of HR functions. This is an opportunity to shape future solutions used on a large national scale and be part of an established tech environment with modern development practices.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and enhance components for a cloud-based HCM platform
    • Build and maintain web applications focused on HR processes
    • Design and execute automated tests; evaluate and improve test results
    • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to plan and refine the development backlog
    • Contribute to continuous improvement in architecture and development practices

    Requirements

    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field (or equivalent experience)
    • Strong experience developing with Java and Jakarta EE
    • Hands-on experience with Cloud-Native development
    • Knowledge of: JPA / Hibernate, CDI, RESTful services & API design
    • Experience with relational databases (ideally Oracle DBMS)
    • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI) practices
    • Passion for new technologies and willingness to actively influence product evolution
    • Good English communication skills
    • German language proficiency (at least B2 level) is mandatory

    • Experience working with enterprise-grade SaaS platforms
    • Background in HR tech or public-sector digital systems
