Project overview
The COVID-19 pandemic challenged the supply chain industry and forced the players to implement innovative solutions to be more resilient. Many companies, both corporations and SMEs, intensified their digital transformation, which became an opportunity for software suppliers who focused on industry solutions for logistics and warehousing.
Our client Bitergo offers a collection of business apps to optimize warehouse management, scalable from start-ups to 4PL companies. The warehouse management solution “Warehouse Star” consists of modular, standardized web and Android apps that help businesses digitalize their warehouses within a few days. Another unique feature of this collection is its ability to integrate other systems.
The client wanted to upgrade the front-end part of all their application to the latest version of Angular. The user-friendly interface plays a crucial role in customers’ satisfaction and is one of the factors that increase the conversion rate. By developing the updated front-end, the client aimed to promote to a specific target audience the opportunity to test the service and then convert the trial testers into new customers.
Challenge
The client’s web designer delivered a style guide and UX concept that had to be reproduced in the front-end development. At that stage, developers had to address the challenges derived from the architecture of the existing platform.
There are multiple similar modules and components that are used in different applications. The total number of applications is more than 15, so the development of each component would take a lot of time.
Solution
unicrew developers implemented Angular components strictly according to the requirements. In order to shorten the time period and use resources with maximum efficiency, we decided to use Storybook for the development of universal components that later will be integrated into the new grid of each application.
After implementing whole user front-ends unicrew’s engineers completed the backend integration via REST and supported it with technical SEO.

Result
unicrew’s team has updated the front-end part of the Business App Store by developing with Angular.
The intensification of development through the use of Storybook lead to fast completion of the active and defined backlog. Besides that, the collection of reusable components was developed to streamline the further development of new applications. As the client stated, after the launch of the Business App Store the number of potential customers increased.
