  • Our client is a young company in the new energy industry. They support customers, such as energy suppliers, municipal utilities, and tenant electricity projects, in managing their work processes.They also offer companies consulting on the challenges of the energy transition and continuously develop their own software for various players in the energy market.

    As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will support development team in programming and maintaining complex software systems and seamless web interfaces according to our API-first approach. Your responsibilities will also include database management, ensuring code quality, troubleshooting, and documentation. You will work closely with colleagues from the frontend and other teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Software development: Development and maintenance of complex software systems using Java and Spring/Spring Boot
    • Web interfaces: Design and implementation of RESTful web interfaces for communication between different systems
    • Database management: Managing and optimizing databases with JPA and SQL for efficient data processing
    • Code quality: Ensuring code quality through regular reviews and tests
    • Collaboration: Close collaboration with front-end developers and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of back-end functionalities
    • Troubleshooting: Analysis and resolution of technical problems within the software architecture
    • Documentation: Creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the developed backend systems

    Requirements

    • You have a degree in computer science or a comparable technical qualification
    • Alternatively, equivalent professional experience as a career changer in the energy sector
    • Programming languages: Solid knowledge of Java and experience with Spring/Spring Boot
    • Web interfaces: Experience in developing RESTful APIs
    • Databases: Knowledge of JPA and SQL for database management
    • Knowledge of the energy market (EDIFACT, market communication)
    • Language skills: Fluent written and spoken German and English
    • Working style: Results- and quality-oriented working style with strong teamwork and communication skills
